About This Role

This role oversees the development of a cohesive teaching team and is responsible for coordinating the curriculum, managing daily classroom activities, and maintaining a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment for children to learn and grow.

What You'll Do

• Develop a cohesive teaching team by leading by example and mentoring colleagues to enhance teaching practices.
• Maintain an engaging and stimulating classroom environment by planning individual and group activities that foster social, cognitive, and emotional growth in children.
• Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and children through regular updates, progress reports, and conferences to ensure the needs of all parties are met.
• Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers, ensuring they follow planned activities, safety standards, and center policies.
• Maintain accurate records and files, adhering to state regulations and center policies.
• Maintain a healthy classroom environment, adhering to hygiene and cleanliness standards, and prioritizing the safety and security of children.
• Plan and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on early learning standards and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Develop and maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere, promoting social, emotional, and cognitive growth in children.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a CDA.
• Must clear a full background check.
• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification (within 90 days of employment).
• Minimum of 1 year of professional childcare experience.
• Requirements include the ability to walk frequently, use hands and fingers, and handle objects, tools, or controls. May also be required to kneel, bend, or squat.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
• High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
• A strong understanding of child development.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
