Position Summary Peace Officer Investigator in the Anaheim Investigation Division of the Employment Development Department (EDD). The Investigator conducts comprehensive criminal investigations, supports system enhancements to prevent, detect, and deter fraud, and assists in investigating alleged violations of the Unemployment Insurance Code and related regulations. Responsibilities Conduct surveillance and/or undercover operations, skip tracing, locate, interview, and interrogate informants, witnesses, and suspects. Develop and serve search warrants on multiple premises, businesses, and vehicles. Conduct searches and seizures of computers, gather and preserve evidence. Provide technical assistance to local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. Write investigative reports detailing crimes, facts, witnesses, and exhibits. Make arrests and testify in court. Assist Deputy Directors in implementing system enhancements to prevent, detect, and deter fraud. Minimum Requirements Annual salary range of $6,339.00 – $10,609.00 per month. Certification as a POST Regular Basic or Specialized Investigators' Basic Course (SIBC) graduate. Completion of the Investigation Division's Investigator Field Training Program within one year of appointment. Compliance with continuing professional training (CPT) requirements: minimum 24 hours of POST‑qualifying training during each two‑year cycle. Valid California Driver’s License (CDL) and ability to provide license details on application. Clearance of background, medical, and psychological evaluations. Desirable Qualifications Current POST Regular Basic or SIBC certificate. Relevant coursework or formal training in Criminal Justice or fraud investigations. Experience in law enforcement or related fields. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks under strict deadlines. Working Conditions Hybrid telework is possible; the extent of telework is at the department’s discretion. Travel may be required throughout California and out of state as authorized by the Chief of the Investigation Division.
