Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Assisting licensed Physical Therapists in the execution of individualized therapy treatment plans, ensuring that each patient receives tailored care aligned with their recovery goals.
• Providing a range of therapeutic interventions, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, gait training sessions, and modalities for pain management.
• Monitoring patient progress closely and documenting observations accurately, facilitating timely communication with the supervising Physical Therapist regarding any significant changes or developments.
• Educating patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, safety practices for home care, and self-management strategies to enhance recovery experiences.
• Ensuring the maintenance of detailed and compliant patient records in accordance with state regulations and facility standards.
• Creating and maintaining a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment for all patients during therapy sessions to promote comfort and recovery.
• Collaborating effectively with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes through shared knowledge and innovative treatment practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily focus on adult and geriatric patients, who may be dealing with various conditions impacting their mobility and daily functioning. This includes post-surgical recovery, chronic pain management, orthopedic injuries, and neurological conditions. You will play a pivotal role in empowering these individuals on their rehabilitation journeys, facilitating their return to independence and improved quality of life.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor's Degree in a related field, ideally from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• An active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of California.
• A strong foundation in rehabilitation practices and principles, with an emphasis on adult and geriatric patient care.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective interactions with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

Preferred Experience

While we welcome new graduates, the ideal candidate will have:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Physical Therapist Assistant, particularly in outpatient, skilled nursing, or inpatient rehabilitation settings.

Compensation and Benefits
