Work Environment

This position is primarily onsite at our well-equipped hospital facility, where you will work alongside an experienced team of physical therapists, rehabilitation aides, and administrative staff. The facility's state-of-the-art design promotes a safe and efficient space for both therapy practice and patient interactions. Our operational hours are Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a consistent daily routine.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with supervising Physical Therapists to implement individualized treatment plans that facilitate patient recovery and rehabilitation.
• Instruct and guide patients through various therapeutic exercises and activities, ensuring they understand the purpose and technique of each movement.
• Utilize our electronic medical records (EMR) system to document patient progress and responses during sessions, providing accurate and timely updates to the supervising PT.
• Prepare therapy areas and equipment prior to patient sessions, ensuring all tools are sanitized and functional, which directly impacts patient safety and treatment efficacy.
• Monitor patient safety and comfort throughout therapy sessions, adjusting exercises and treatment modalities as necessary to optimize care.
• Enhance patient motivation and engagement through positive interactions and encouragement, fostering a supportive therapeutic environment.
• Maintain effective communication with the clinical team, sharing insights on patient progress and collaborating to enhance treatment outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The PTA will work with a diverse population of patients, including older adults recovering from surgery, individuals with chronic pain conditions, and athletes rehabilitating from injuries. Each patient's treatment plan is thoughtfully designed to meet their specific needs, aiming to promote optimal recovery and mobility in a supportive atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Valid California Physical Therapist Assistant License is required.
• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current CPR/BLS certification is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with patients and team members.
• Capable of thriving in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while remaining focused on patient-centered care.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar outpatient setting is highly desired.
• Previous experience working alongside physical therapists in patient care is advantageous.
