Subscale Engineer

Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are dedicated to cultivating an equitable and inclusive environment that embraces our differences, and supports and celebrates all of our team members.What you’ll do:Design, build, maintain, and fly new and existing subscale aircraftDevelop and execute test plans for ground, flight, and component level testing in conjunction with engineers from other teamsSchedule and manage test campaignsPrepare and lead flight briefs and debriefs for subscale test campaignsReport and communicate test resultsWhat you need:2+ years of experience in flight testing or a related fieldDegree in Aerospace or Mechanical engineeringDemonstrated ability to design and fabricate small unmanned aircraftProficient with SolidworksExcellent fixed wing and rotary wing RC piloting skillsCurrent FAA Part 107 licenseExcellent written and verbal communication skillsBonus Qualifications:Experience with subscale and fullscale eVTOL flight testProficient with MatlabExperience with rapid manufacturingPilot licenseAt Archer, we aim to attract, retain, and motivate talent with the skills and leadership needed to grow our business. Actual compensation offered will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
