About the Role
The Company is in search of a CEO/General Manager to lead its community-centered, full-service grocery cooperative. The successful candidate will be an entrepreneurial, community-minded leader with a strong background in grocery retail, financial management, and a genuine commitment to the cooperative business model. The role involves balancing mission and margin, ensuring the cooperative operates efficiently and profitably, and maintaining a clean, welcoming, and inclusive shopping environment. The CEO/General Manager will be responsible for the Market's financial performance, strategic planning, and will oversee all aspects of the business, including operations, marketing, and community engagement. Applicants for the CEO/General Manager position at the company should have a minimum of five years' experience in retail grocery management, a proven track record in financial management, and the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team. The role requires a leader who can make strategic decisions, drive performance, and is adept at problem-solving. Experience in a food desert, food-insecure, or low-income community is highly valued, as is a service-oriented leadership style. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the cooperative business model, the ability to work effectively with a Board of Directors, and a passion for improving the community through the grocery retail business.
