SUMMARY As an Assistant Controller, you will play a key role in our Finance organization by supporting the Controller and Chief Financial Officer in managing the day-to-day accounting operations of the business. You will gain hands-on experience in financial reporting, account analysis, budgeting, and process improvement while partnering with business leaders across the organization. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Accounting required Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines RESPONSIBILITIES Support the Controller with day-to-day accounting procedures, ensuring operational, administrative, and financial transactions are accurately recorded in the appropriate general ledger accounts Analyze general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies, correcting errors and inconsistencies in financial recoords Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting Financial Analysis & Budgeting Perform detailed expense analysis and review budget-to-actual variances Partner with branch locations, executives, and key departments to analyze financial performance and explain variances Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts Reconciliations & Compliance Monitor balance sheet account reconciliations and review variances between current year, prior year, and budgeted results Verify daily cash, check, and credit card deposits against the point-of-sale systems Assist with sales tax filings, audits, and compliance with company accounting policies and regulatory requirements Audit & Financial Controls Support year-end financial close activities and coordinate with external auditors and tax preparers Assist in maintaining internal controls and identifying opportunities to improve accounting procedures and financial processes Ensure financial records are accurate and compliant with company policies and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) Reporting & Administrative Support Prepare financial reports, account analyses, and supporting documentation Maintain accurate accounting records and financial documentation Provide general administrative and analytical support to the Controller, Chief Financial Officer, and Finance team #J-18808-Ljbffr
