Accounting AssistantContributes and assists in the monthly accounting cycle while working independently with guidance. Eager to learn and analyze financial information. Anticipates job expectations while performing accounting tasks requiring application of standard techniques and knowledge.ResponsibilitiesReviews and reconciles assigned balance sheet accounts for each country for monthly reconciliationBooks monthly journal entries, including reclasses and accruals for each companyReviews expenses to ensure all expense accounts in all companies are recorded properly, and if not reclasses to the proper sections and officesApplies payments daily to invoices from cash receipts and preparing a consultant payment amount based on invoices paidPrepares cash logs for daily deposit files and associated documentsReviews fixed asset items in holding account; reclasses into appropriate asset when item is placed into service and adds the asset into Sage softwarePrepares and books fixed asset depreciation monthlyAssists with government surveys such as BEA 125, Quarterly Services, Service ReportsRuns Rev Gen on weekly and monthly basis so that revenue results can we reportedPrepares consolidated reporting each monthAssists with various ad-hoc reporting, journal entries, research, requests, and any necessary adjustmentsDemonstrates a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial informationMaintains accounting controls by following policies and procedures, complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirementsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or an equivalent combination of education and experienceTypically with 2+ years of experienceExperience in MS Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook and WordExperience in Deltek Vision preferredWorking knowledge of accounting, GAAP principles and data entryStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of staffStrong work ethic and eagerness to produce high quality, accurate resultsStrong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same timeAbility to hold sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality and integrityAbility to communicate and present ideas in a clear, concise and professional manner both verbally and in writingAbility to problem solve and apply appropriate solutionsAbility to work and collaborate in a team environmentAbility to work independently, prioritize work activities and use time efficientlyAbility to effectively meet deadlines at expected qualityIf you currently work for HKS, please submit your application via the Internal Careers Portal.HKS is an EEO/AA Employer: M/F/Disabled/Veteran
