Respiratory Therapist Opportunity

We're hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a hospital in Kansas City, KS where you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders. The Respiratory Therapist provides intensive respiratory care, patient transport, and education, and performs procedures such as mechanical ventilation management, airway management, arterial puncture, pulmonary function testing, chest physiotherapy, suctioning, tracheostomy care, and assistance with bronchoscopy and chest tube management according to facility policy.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor's degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.
• Current state respiratory care license in good standing.
• One year experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• BLS certification.
• Experience operating and monitoring mechanical ventilators, both invasive and non-invasive modalities.
• Experience performing arterial puncture, pulse oximetry, and capnography monitoring.
• Experience with 12-lead EKG acquisition and basic arrhythmia recognition.
• Ability to assist with procedures related to respiratory care (e.g., bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomy assistance, chest tube management).

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS certification preferred.
• Experience in acute care hospital settings with moderate complexity labs.
• Prior experience performing pulmonary function studies (NIF, VC, etc.).

Assignment Details

• Shift pattern: Night, 3x12.
• Position available: 1.
• Candidate must perform patient transport and may assist with preventative maintenance and repair of respiratory equipment as required.
