Product Marketing Manager

A Day in Your Life at MKS:As a Product Marketing Manager, you are a key business leader and part of the Systems Irvine Business Unit whose product portfolio includes optical systems, light sources, sensors, lens assemblies, optics, coating and manufacturing services. You will be responsible for bringing a new segment of business online which includes product strategy, roadmap, sales pipeline, and new market growth opportunities. Your priority and focus are with emerging customers and internal stakeholders to develop and lead strategies to maximize growth, profit, and customer satisfaction. In this exciting, strategic role, you will report directly to the Director of Product Marketing in the Systems Irvine Business Unit.You Make an Impact by: “Owning” team, product, and product line business successDirects the development of company market requirements for a new market, including product strategy definition, requirements analysis, and pricingDrive the development of business plans, managing lifecycles, and product positioning in the marketplaceReduce broad concepts and business strategies into structured product marketing plansConducts market research, monitors competitive activity, and identifies customer needsEstablishes pricing strategiesCollaborates with engineering, operations, supply chain and sales to enhance existing product(s) or product line(s)Leads new product definition and business plans with joint departmentsIs the technical advisor for specific product(s) assignedSelects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the functionSkills You Bring:Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in a science, engineering, or technical discipline preferred5+ years of experience in product management, product marketing, or business leadership within a technology-driven environment3+ years of experience in optical systems or laser technologies with the ability to act as a technical advisorProven ability to define and execute product strategies, roadmaps, and lifecycle managementStrong business acumen with demonstrated success in driving growth, profitability, and customer satisfactionExperience conducting market research, competitive analysis, and pricing strategy developmentSkilled at translating broad concepts and business goals into structured product plansCollaborative leader with a track record of working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, supply chain, and sales to deliver resultsAbility to act as a technical advisor for product lines, with the confidence to engage both internal teams and key customersStrong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levelsAbility to travel up to 30%Physical Demands & Working Conditions:Must be able to communicate information and ideas so that others will understandMust be able to exchange accurate information Operates in a professional office and/or laboratory/manufacturing environmentConstantly operates a computer and other office productivity machineryPerform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods of timeAbility to remain in a stationary position for majority of the timeAbility to observe documents and details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)Dedication to safety to mitigate hazards, including handling mechanical and electrical hardware, high voltage, gas, water, and heatNoise level in the work environment is usually averageIn addition to the above responsibilities, the following are considered material job duties of the position: Ability to take and follow directions and instructions. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.
