Senior Manager, G&A Functions
Vertex Pharmaceuticals
Vertex Pharmaceuticals seeks a Senior Manager for Financial Planning & Analysis to serve as strategic finance partner to General & Administrative functions. The role involves leading budget and forecasting processes, driving financial performance management, and providing decision support to senior leaders in Boston.
Responsibilities
- Serve as strategic finance partner to G&A function leaders, providing financial counsel and constructive challenge
- Lead annual budget, forecast, and long-range planning processes for assigned functions
- Drive monthly and quarterly financial performance reviews, variance analysis, and KPI monitoring
- Partner with HR and functional leaders on workforce planning, headcount forecasting, and organizational changes
- Prepare and present financial updates synthesizing complex information for senior leadership decision-making
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
- 8 years progressive experience in FP&A, business partnering, or related finance roles
- Advanced financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and modeling expertise
- Strong analytical skills with ability to synthesize complex data and identify value drivers
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and planning platforms like Hyperion or Oracle EPM
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences
- Biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience preferred
