Principal - Product Manager

As a Principal Product Manager reporting to the AVP – Product Management, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping Nasdaq's product roadmap and driving innovation in the Capital Markets Back Office. You will lead product development initiatives from inception through delivery, influencing key stakeholders, and engage with customers on strategic opportunities.You'll thrive in this position if you're a strategic thinker with a proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional efforts and translating market insight into high-impact product outcomes. You should have a background in Securities Processing and Accounting for US Fixed Income, and experience with Capital Markets Post-Trade-Processing Systems.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine and drive product strategy across the full product lifecycle — from ideation and design through launch, iteration, and market adoption.Lead cross-functional project spanning engineering, design, testing, and demonstration to deliver scalable, customer-aligned product solutions.Identify and pursue new business and market opportunities, developing business cases, and go-to-market strategies within a matrixed organization.Translate customer insights, market research, and competitive analysis into actionable product requirements, roadmaps, and prioritization decisions.Partner with functional leaders to provide timely updates on product performance, resource needs, and strategic recommendations.Oversee feasibility studies, field trials, and profitability analyses to inform investment decisions and product direction.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field; equivalent practical experience will be considered.10+ years of experience in product management or a related discipline within technology or financial services.Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment across global, matrixed organizations.Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with experience using data to drive decisions and measure outcomes.Proven track record of managing complex product programs with multiple workstreams and competing priorities.Clear, executive-level communicator with experience presenting to cross-functional and senior leadership audiences.Experience with US Fixed Income in Post-Trade-Processing and Accounting functions.Preferred QualificationsPost-graduate degree (e.g., MBA) or relevant professional certification.Experience in capital markets, fintech, or regulated technology environments.Active membership in a relevant professional association or demonstrated leadership in industry communities.This position will be located in New York and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in-office, subject to change, providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.This posting is for an existing vacancy within NasdaqApplicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future; Nasdaq will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work visa status for this opportunity (no sponsorship is available for H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, F-1, J-1, OPT, CPT or any other employment-based visa)Come as You AreNasdaq is an equal opportunity employer. In addition to base salary, Nasdaq provides a generous annual bonus/commission (short-term incentive), and equity (long-term incentive), comprehensive benefits, and opportunity for growth.
