Staff Accountant - Hybrid

Responsibilities

Kforce's client, a rapidly growing publicly traded company, is seeking a Staff Accountant in Princeton, NJ. The role is in office 3 days a week & 2 days remote. This role will perform accounting for the end-to-end asset lifecycle, including capitalization, depreciation, impairment, and disposal, while supporting the month-end close, financial reporting, and audit activities.In this role, the Staff Accountant contributes to process optimization by leveraging automation and AI-enabled tools to improve data accuracy, reporting efficiency, and asset management insights. The Staff Accountant collaborates cross-functionally to drive consistency in capital expenditure tracking and enhance overall financial transparency. • Perform fixed asset accounting functions necessary to achieve an accurate and timely general ledger month-end close
• Reconcile fixed asset accounts to the general ledger on a monthly basis
• Prepare entity-level and consolidated fixed asset roll-forwards
• Assist with the analysis and preparation of schedules for inclusion in the quarterly controller's packages that are presented to senior management
• Preparation of quarterly/annual fixed asset schedules in accordance with GAAP and SEC disclosure requirements for inclusion in the periodic financial statements, footnotes, and other financial information reported on SEC Form 10-Q/10-K
• Assist in providing requested deliverables and any follow-up requests for additional support to the internal and external auditors
• Provide support on technical accounting issues
• Assist with testing relevant accounting and fixed asset system upgrades and enhancements
• Assist with special projects

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university
• 2-3 years of experience in public accounting audit &/or corporate accounting
• Working knowledge and general understanding of U.S. GAAP, especially as it relates to fixed asset accounting is a plus
• Practical understanding and application of internal control processes and procedures over financial accounting and reporting
• Project participation and organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to navigate fast-paced environments with tight deadlines; Ability to set priorities and respond quickly to changing demands from multiple sources
• Can develop and maintain cross-functional business partnerships with professionalism
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication
• Strong willingness to learn new skills and information
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and working knowledge of accounting/reporting software, specifically SAP or OneStream XF is a plus
• Analytical mindset: Ability to collect and analyze information, problem-solve, and make recommendations or decisions; Ability to create and manipulate spreadsheets with large data sets
• Ability to observe and identify key details

Nice to have:

• A CPA designation or working toward certification is a plus
• Public accounting experience
• SAP S/4HANA experience
• Experience implementing or working with automation or AI-based workflows
• Energy industry experience
• Ability to work productively and independently in a team environment
• Ability to use AI tools to analyze large datasets and generate insights

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
