Responsibilities of Maintenance Mechanic Ensure machinery operation by completing maintenance requirements on production, packaging, processing equipment, and utility systems. Interpret technical data by reading, analyzing, and reviewing service manuals, technical procedures, and work orders. Utilize specialized tools including a variety of hand tools, power tools, and material handling equipment. Maintain safety standards by strictly following required work-safe practices, including lock-out/tag-out requirements and wearing all required PPE in safety-sensitive designated areas. Qualifications of Maintenance Mechanic High school diploma or equivalent; OR 1–3 months of related experience and/or training; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Blueprint reading skills with the ability to interpret specifications and other standard schematics. Material identification skills to quickly and accurately recognize different materials. Physical capability to regularly lift 25–50 pounds. Regulatory certification to successfully pass a Hazmat exam.
