Construction Estimator - Banking Industry Construction - Base Salary to 100k/year - Milford, OH

• Our client is an established commercial general contractor specializing in construction projects throughout the Midwest and nationwide. Their project portfolio includes commercial renovations, remodels, and ground-up construction.
• In this role, the Construction Estimator will manage estimating and preconstruction activities for commercial construction projects, including quantity takeoffs, cost estimating, subcontractor bid solicitation and analysis, and review of architectural and structural drawings. This is a hands-on estimating position working with Project Management and Operations teams throughout the preconstruction process. The position is primarily office-based with occasional travel to project sites.

Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze construction drawings, blueprints, plans, specifications, proposals, and other project documentation
• Perform quantity takeoffs and calculate labor, equipment, and material costs for commercial construction projects
• Prepare detailed construction cost estimates, bids, and proposals for ground-up construction, renovations, and remodeling projects
• Coordinate subcontractor bidding, including preparing bid invitations, soliciting subcontractor bids, reviewing scope and pricing, and scheduling site visits
• Analyze and compare subcontractor and supplier proposals for scope coverage and pricing
• Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct project site visits as required
• Work with Project Management and Operations teams throughout estimating and preconstruction
• Prepare project documentation, material release schedules, project schedules, and related information for Project Managers
• Travel to project sites as necessary to collect measurements, photographs, and other information required for estimating

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of commercial construction Estimating experience required
• Commercial ground-up construction estimating experience required
• Experience estimating projects for a commercial general contractor, including construction bidding, cost estimating, quantity takeoffs, and subcontractor bid coordination
• Experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting commercial construction plans, specifications, architectural drawings, and structural drawings
• Experience soliciting, reviewing, and comparing subcontractor bids and scopes of work
• Experience working with subcontractors throughout the estimating and preconstruction process
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel required
• Experience using construction estimating software
• Ability to work full time in the Milford office, with one day per week working from home once established
• Ability to occasionally travel to project sites

Compensation:

• Base salary in the 80k - 100k/year range
