Job Purpose

The Sanitation Operator is responsible for maintaining sanitation operations in a manufacturing environment while following safety procedures and sanitation standards. The role requires teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to safely operate equipment and chemicals.

Key Responsibilities

• Learn and perform sanitation operations.
• Follow the Sanitation 7 Steps process.
• Perform Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) procedures.
• Set up and tear down equipment.
• Safely handle and use cleaning chemicals.
• Clean drains and conduct pre-operational inspections.
• Maintain a safe work environment for self and others.
• Operate a Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) after receiving proper training.
• Learn and perform additional job assignments as required.
• Operate equipment only after proper training and supervisor approval.
• Lift up to 50 pounds as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred but not required.
• Equivalent experience is acceptable.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to operate a calculator.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Strong planning, time management, and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work around heavy machinery and manufacturing equipment.
• Willingness to work in wet production environments and varying seasonal temperatures.

Work Environment

• Manufacturing plant environment.
• Indoor work with heavy machinery and equipment.
• Primary production areas are wet; secondary areas may occasionally be wet.
• Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
• • Bump cap or hard hat
  • Safety glasses
  • Slip-resistant safety shoes
  • Ear plugs

Schedule

• Minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Overtime as needed.
• Flexibility to adjust shift schedules and work with employees on other shifts.
