The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and implement CNC programs for lathes using CAM software.
• Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to determine optimal machining processes.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, and inserts for various materials and operations.
• Simulate and verify CNC programs to ensure collision avoidance and dimensional accuracy.
• Optimize existing CNC programs for improved efficiency, cycle time, and tool life.
• Collaborate with machinists and engineers to troubleshoot and resolve programming-related issues.
• Document and maintain revision control for all CNC programs and associated data.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, GibbsCAM) for generating CNC programs.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.
• Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming for 2-axis and multi-axis lathes.
• Experience with tool selection, workholding, and fixture design for efficient machining.
• Knowledge of various materials (e.g., steel, aluminum, plastics) and their machining characteristics.
• Proven ability to optimize cutting parameters and tool paths for improved cycle times and surface finish.
