Class A CDL Truck Driver

We are seeking an experienced Class A CDL Retail Route Driver to join our team in Morristown, Tennessee. This position is responsible for safely transporting and collecting food-waste materials along designated regional routes. Drivers should expect two to three overnight stays each week.

The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, comfortable working independently, and capable of providing professional service at customer locations. Responsibilities include operating commercial vehicles, completing required inspections and documentation, maintaining assigned equipment, and communicating effectively with dispatch, customers, vendors, and operations personnel.

This is a safety-sensitive position that requires alertness, sound judgment, and consistent attention to detail. Each employee is responsible for protecting their own safety and the safety of others.

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
• CDL must be self-certified as Non-Excepted Interstate with the issuing state
• Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP) report
• Stable employment history
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
• Willingness and ability to complete two to three overnight stays per week
• Ability to operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles

Candidates must meet one of the following experience requirements:

• Be at least 23 years old with a minimum of two years of verifiable, full-time tractor-trailer experience
• OR Be at least 21 years old with a minimum of one year of tractor-trailer experience and meet one of the following conditions:
• Graduate of a certified truck-driving school
• One year of equivalent military driving experience

Key Responsibilities

• Safely load, transport, collect, and deliver food-waste materials along intrastate and interstate routes
• Complete regional retail routes with approximately 1525 stops per day, depending on the assigned route
• Remain available for two to three overnight stays each week
• Operate combination vehicles, including open-top dump trailers
• Operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles in compliance with DOT regulations and applicable laws
• Use manual or electric pallet jacks when required
• Clean bins and containers using a pressure washer
• Ensure customer locations are left clean and free of debris
• Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Report mechanical, equipment, service, and customer-related concerns promptly
• Complete minor repairs to company bins and equipment using basic hand tools
• Maintain basic truck equipment and keep the assigned vehicle clean
• Use an electronic logging device to maintain accurate DOT records
• Complete and submit contamination reports, service tickets, maintenance logs, and other required documentation
• Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, dispatchers, and operations team members
• Immediately report all accidents and injuries according to company safety procedures
• Attend weekly safety calls, training sessions, and operational briefings
• Use a computer and mobile phone for training, communication, reporting, and expense management
• Accept various route assignments, including interstate routes, based on operational needs
• Work flexible hours based on seasonality and business demand, including up to 60 hours in seven days or 70 hours in eight days, as permitted by DOT regulations

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift, push, or pull up to 70 pounds
• Regularly bend, stoop, twist, shovel, and reach overhead
• Safely use pallet jacks, pressure washers, and basic hand tools
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Tolerate exposure to strong odors associated with food waste and agricultural materials
• Safely enter and exit commercial vehicles throughout the workday
