1st Shift Machine Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Machine Operator to join our production team in Decatur, AL. In this role, you will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining production machinery to ensure efficiency, quality, and workplace safety. The ideal candidate possesses strong troubleshooting skills, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to maintaining production standards.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Operation: Run assigned production machinery, closely monitoring cycle times, operating temperatures, pressure levels, and vibration metrics. Promptly respond to equipment alarms or system abnormalities.
Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine machine cleaning, scheduled lubrication, minor repairs, and basic preventative maintenance tasks.
Troubleshooting & Repairs: Identify mechanical issues, perform necessary adjustments, and coordinate directly with maintenance teams for complex repairs.
Quality & Production Control: Monitor and adjust equipment settings as needed to achieve daily output targets and strictly maintain product quality standards.
Sanitation & Workplace Safety: Maintain a clean, organized work area using proper sanitation methods. Follow all OSHA guidelines and safety protocols.

Qualifications & Requirements

Proven experience or mechanical aptitude in machine operation within a manufacturing or production environment.
Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve minor equipment issues.
Strong attention to detail and high awareness of safety procedures.
Ability to monitor metrics, read gauges, and respond quickly to technical alerts.
Physical capability to lift, bend, stand for extended periods, and perform routine equipment maintenance.

Work Schedule & Compensation

Shift: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday through Thursday (4x10 schedule, off Friday–Sunday)
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire opportunity with direct-hire potential based on attendance, performance, and operational needs.
