Inpatient Medical Coder

To support the coding of complex inpatient acute care discharges, the full-time Inpatient Medical Coder will utilize technical expertise to assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes while collaborating with clinical documentation teams in a remote work environment. Key responsibilities Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes to complex inpatient visit types based on health record documentation Collaborate with Clinical Documentation Improvement teams to ensure accurate coding and reporting of diagnoses and procedures Educate stakeholders on regulatory guidelines and coding conventions to maintain compliance and accuracy in coding practices Required qualifications Minimum of three years' experience in inpatient coding within an Academic Medical Center Current CCS, CIC, RHIA, or RHIT certification Proficient in using coding software and resources, such as 3M 360 CAC Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively Excellent organizational skills and understanding of Standard Operating Procedures
