Hillcrest Hospital’s 5 Seidman Renal Unit is a 24 private bed unit that provides care and treatment to acutely ill adult and geriatric patients who require inpatient or observation care. Patients in this unit have renal diseases, respiratory diseases, cardiac diseases, diabetes and other chronic diseases. This unit also specializes in peritoneal dialysis while also providing treatments such as cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, nutritional support, diagnostic testing and spiritual support. As an RN in this unit, you will help ensure patients have the care they need quickly. All the while, your fellow caregivers will assist you, offering a cohesive, encouraging and constructive front to enhance the patient’s experience and your skills as a nurse. Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and providing safety resources. A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. with every other weekend and holiday rotation requirements. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs. Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach. Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability).
