Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Data Entry Clerk in Hampton, Virginia. This position focuses on accurately entering financial journal information so records are organized and ready for year-end close activities. The ideal candidate is comfortable handling high-volume numeric entry, works carefully with sensitive data, and maintains accuracy in a deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
• Enter journal entry data into financial systems with a high level of speed and accuracy.
• Review source documents carefully to ensure information is recorded correctly and completely.
• Support the finance team by updating records needed for year-end close preparation.
• Verify numeric data and identify discrepancies before final submission.
• Maintain organized documentation and follow established procedures for data handling.
• Work with internal stakeholders to clarify incomplete or inconsistent entry details when needed.
• At least 2 years of experience in data entry or a similar administrative support role.• Strong keyboarding skills with the ability to enter high volumes of numeric data accurately.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
• Comfort using computer-based systems and standard office software for data entry tasks.
• Ability to follow instructions closely and manage repetitive work efficiently.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
