MSAT S&D Principal Scientist

Principal Scientist role within Manufacturing Science & Technology responsible for defining and deploying advanced manufacturing technologies across Johnson & Johnson's global synthetic drug product network. The position provides strategic leadership for technology adoption, process improvements, and digital solutions while partnering with cross-functional teams to drive business value and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement global deployment strategies for advanced manufacturing technologies across multiple manufacturing sites
- Lead technology transfer, scale-up activities, and process implementation with oversight of deployment execution
- Define business cases and value propositions for manufacturing deployment opportunities, tracking realization of benefits
- Provide technical leadership on complex commercial manufacturing challenges and guide modernization initiatives
- Establish partnerships with manufacturing sites, platform organizations, and external collaborators to advance innovation
Requirements
- Advanced degree in chemical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, or related field
- Extensive experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing process development and scale-up
- Demonstrated expertise in advanced manufacturing technologies and process analytical technology
- Strong leadership and cross-functional stakeholder management capabilities
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality systems in pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Experience with digital manufacturing solutions and data-driven decision making
