Shipping Clerk

Job Title: Lead Shipping Clerk

Shift: First Shift

The Shipping Clerk accurately processes customer orders for shipment and receives materials against purchase orders in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role organizes and operates the shipping and receiving area, maintains accurate inventory records in the ERP system, and ensures all shipments and receipts comply with company procedures and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Organize and oversee the day-to-day operation of the warehouse shipping and receiving area.

• Maintain detailed shipping and receiving logs and keep organized files of all shipping records.

• Prepare packing lists, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

• Notify the supervisor promptly of any discrepancies in incoming shipments and tag parts as needed.

• Close aftermarket and stock jobs and issue parts accordingly in coordination with inventory and production requirements.

• Ship customer orders by verifying that actual items and lot numbers match the order requirements before shipment.

• Track and record all inventory movements in the Syteline ERP system to maintain accurate stock levels.

• Perform and/or manage daily inventory cycle counts and assist with full physical inventory counts for raw materials, plastic parts, and equipment parts.

• Use ERP to enter, update, and review data related to inventory, shipments, and receipts.

• Assist in the stockroom as needed, including picking, packing, and staging orders.

• Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to move, load, and unload materials.

• Use shipping systems such as UPS WorldShip and FedEx software to process shipments and labels.

• Handle packaging tasks to ensure products are securely and correctly packed for shipment.

• Perform data entry related to orders, inventory transactions, and shipping documentation with a high degree of accuracy.

• Support inventory control by conducting manual cycle counts and investigating discrepancies.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Preferred experience in a manufacturing environment with inventory control and stockroom operations.

• Knowledge of international shipping procedures is preferred.

• Familiarity with ERP or similar enterprise resource planning systems.

• Experience with UPS WorldShip, FedEx shipping software, and other carrier platforms.

• Experience with order selection, picking, and packaging in a warehouse or stockroom.

• Strong math skills to support accurate counting, inventory management, and documentation.

• Experience with general inventory processes, including processing orders and tracking stock movements.

• Ability to adapt to new processes, systems, and priorities in a rapidly changing environment.

• Demonstrated reliability and consistency in meeting deadlines and maintaining accurate records.

• Ability to perform continuous walking and other physical activities common in a warehouse setting.

• Ability to work independently, maintain a positive attitude, and collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization.

• Experience with material handling, including operating forklifts and pallet jacks.

• Experience with shipping systems and carriers, including UPS and FedEx.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clifton, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.50 - $26.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
