Job Title: Cable Technician

Location: Abilene/Shackleford County, Texas
Employment Type: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire
Schedule: Day Shift (10-12 hours/day, 6 days/week)

Start Date: Monday, October 5th

Compensation

Entry-Level Technician (No Prior Experience Required)

• • Base Pay: $25.00/hour
  • Overtime Pay: $37.50/hour
  • Guaranteed Weekly Earnings (40 hours): $1,000
  • Overtime Opportunity: Earn an additional $750-$1,500 per week based on 20-40 hours of overtime available each week

Technician I (1.5-3 Years of Experience)

• • Base Pay: $30.00/hour
  • Overtime Pay: $45.00/hour
  • Guaranteed Weekly Earnings (40 hours): $1,200
  • Overtime Opportunity: Earn an additional $900-$1,800 per week based on 20-40 hours of overtime available each week

· Potential Weekly Earnings

• • Entry-Level: $1,750-$2,500/week (including overtime)
  • Technician I: $2,100-$3,000/week (including overtime)

PLEASE NOTE: No per-diem or housing is provided. Candidates must be local to the area or willing to secure their own lodging and commute to the job site.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability and willingness to work 60-80 hours per week
• Ability to pass a background check (no felonies, violent misdemeanors, or active/open cases)
• Ability to pass a drug screen, including THC

Required Experience

• Understanding of Single Mode vs. Multimode fiber applications
• Experience with Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, fiber, LC, MPO, DAC, and AOC cabling
• Experience with fiber optic cable jacket standards and industry fiber color codes
• Fiber termination, testing, cleaning, and troubleshooting experience
• Proficiency with OTDRs, light meters, and fiber certification tools
• Ability to read and interpret rack elevations, cable schedules, cabinet maps, and network diagrams
• Experience locating equipment and troubleshooting connectivity using technical documentation
• Familiarity with data center cabinet identification, labeling, cable management, and best practices
