Pathologists' Assistant

Pathology Assistant
Provides services in anatomic pathology under the direction of Pathologist.
Responsibilities:
- Grosses simple, non-complicated and complex surgical pathology specimens, with possible inclusion of dermatology specimens.
- Performs frozen sections, and provides coverage and support as needed.
- Aids Attending Pathologist.
- Obtains pertinent clinical information and history. Maintains Patient Confidentiality by following Healthcare Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
- Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited Pathology Assistant Program.
- Pathologists' Assistant Board Certified or exam eligible with the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
