Client Service Liaison

Position Summary As the first and primary contact for inbound communications, this position is responsible for providing and maintaining excellent service with customers of Regional Pathology Services (RPS), Nebraska Public Health Laboratory (NPHL), and the Department of Pathology & Microbiology at UNMC by ensuring a focused program of customer service. The candidate manages the resolution of client and specimen problems, ensuring thorough investigation and appropriate follow‑up as prescribed by departmental policies. The role monitors and ensures that service reflects the highest level of quality results. Responsibilities Provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients; investigate and resolve client and specimen issues; coordinate follow‑ups; ensure adherence to departmental policies and quality standards; promote a positive teamwork environment; and assist supervisor with departmental projects and initiatives when needed. Qualifications High school education or equivalent (minimum of five years related post‑high school education and experience, with at least one year in a UNMC or Nebraska Medicine clinical laboratory). Five years of clinical laboratory experience in a healthcare environment, including at least one year in a UNMC or Nebraska Medicine clinical laboratory. Excellent problem‑resolution skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients. Promotes a positive teamwork environment. Preferred Qualifications Degree in Healthcare or Biological Sciences. Experience with Sunquest or CoPath systems. Knowledge of UNMC and/or Nebraska Medicine laboratory procedures. Ability to assist supervisor with departmental projects and initiatives and adhere to operational goals, policies, and procedures. Ability to address escalated issues when supervisor is unavailable. Required Computer Applications Microsoft Word. Preferred Computer Applications Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook. Location Omaha, NE. Employment Type Full‑time, regular. Work Schedule Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with rotating weekends and holidays.
