Broadcast TechnicianThe Broadcast Technician supports live productions by operating and configuring video switching systems such as Ross or Blackmagic, managing signal routing, and ensuring smooth execution of broadcasts and recordings. This role collaborates with directors and technical teams in fast-paced environments to deliver high-quality results. Responsibilities include creating motion graphics in Adobe After Effects, managing media playback with ProPresenter, and assisting with audio-video integration, including synchronization and latency. Working within complex SDI, NDI, and IP-based systems, the technician troubleshoots issues in real time, maintains organized workflows, and ensures reliable performance under pressure with strong attention to detail and teamwork.Essential FunctionsLive Production & SwitchingOperate and configure Ross or Blackmagic video switching systems for live events, broadcasts, and recordingsManage input/output mapping, signal routing, multiviews, and show configurationsCollaborate with camera operators, directors, and technical staff during live productionsGraphics, Animation & Media PlaybackDesign, animate, and deploy motion graphics using Adobe After EffectsCreate and manage graphic assets for live shows, broadcast, and digital platformsSupport media playback and presentation workflows using ProPresenterAudio & Technical IntegrationUnderstand and support audio mixing fundamentals, including gain staging, signal flow, and live mix coordinationCollaborate with audio engineers to ensure clean integration between audio and video systemsAssist with synchronization, latency management, and system timing where applicableSystems Engineering & Technical OperationsWork confidently within complex engineering environments involving:Video/audio routing and patchingNetwork-based systems (NDI, SDI, IP workflows)Mapping, labeling, and documentation of signal pathsTroubleshoot issues under live production conditions with calm precisionAssist in system setup, upgrades, testing, and technical documentationCompetenciesHighly organized and systems-mindedThrives in fast-paced, high-pressure live environmentsStrong communicator who works well across creative and technical teamsDetail-oriented with the ability to think both creatively and technicallyPosition Type/Expected Hours of WorkRegular full-time, expected to work weekend services and all call events, with evenings as needed.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods during live productions and eventsMust be able to lift and move equipment up to 50 poundsWork with cables, rigs, and technical gear in studio or on-site environmentsMay also involve working in low-light conditions, navigating tight spaces, and maintaining focus under physically and mentally demanding situations.Education and ExperienceExperience with Ross or Blackmagic video switching systemsProficiency in Adobe After EffectsWorking knowledge of ProPresenterUnderstanding of audio mixing concepts and live sound workflowsGraphic design experience (Adobe Creative Suite preferred)Ability to navigate complex routing, mapping, and signal flow environmentsStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailPreferred QualificationsExperience in broadcast, live event production, or house-of-worship environmentsFamiliarity with:Ross ecosystems (Acuity, Ultrix, XPression, etc.)Blackmagic ATEM workflowsNetworked video/audio systems (NDI, Dante, IP video)Motion design or animation experience beyond basic templatesTechnical documentation or system-diagram experienceWork EnvironmentLive production and broadcast settingsOccasional evenings and weekends for events or servicesCollaborative, creative, and technically advanced production teamOther DutiesMust exemplify The CBC Way of Honor, Hospitality, Hustle, High Capacity, and HumilityMust be willing to work weekends and occasional special eventsCBC Member, genuine desire to serve God and the ChurchMust live a life beyond reproach 1 Timothy 3Maintain daily disciplines of Bible study and prayer
