Patient Care Technician, Student Work Program - 3rd Medical Acute - Vineland

Job Description MAJOR FUNCTION: The Patient Care Technician takes direction from the registered nurse. The main functions are to maintains a safe, clean environment in patient rooms and service areas, assists licensed personnel with basic patient needs and monitoringhealth and vital signs. QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience: High School graduate or equivalent. Qualified candidates must meet one of the following: Previous experience as a nurse aide/residential aide/patient aide with experience in supporting patients' activities of daily living and vital signs. Completion of a nurse aide, multi-skilled tech or patient care tech course(s). Completion of one clinical semester in an LPN/RN program Work Requirements: 6 months - 1-year experience preferred Must be enrolled in College Level classes This position is a per-diem, non-benefit eligible position which requires employees to work a minimum of 32 hours in a 6-month period between January 1 and June 28 and July 1 and December 31. There is 1 weekend shift required during each period. Education and Training does not count towards my periodic work commitment Certification/Licensure: Current American Heart Association BLS required. Welle Training (computer and classroom) within six months of hire. Certified Nurse's Aide license or Patient Care Technician certification preferred.
