About Us The North Carolina Office of the State Auditor (OSA) is your fiscal watchdog, auditing over $100 billion in state assets each year and ensuring transparency across the state’s governance. OSA investigates fraud, waste, and abuse of taxpayer dollars. Responsibilities Participate in audit planning meetings and discussions related to assigned Medicaid audits. Observe and assist in gaining an understanding of Medicaid programs, processes, and internal controls relevant to the audit objectives. Perform audit testing procedures designed by the Medicaid Audit team. Complete fieldwork as necessary. Qualifications Demonstrates an understanding of auditing standards. Ability to work cooperatively with audit team members and auditees. Ability to complete assigned work timely. Minimum Education and Experience A bachelor’s degree with 12 semester hours in accounting from an appropriately accredited institution OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
