Location: South Florida Baptist Hospital – Plant City, FL Facility: BayCare Health System, Laboratory Services – SFBH Shift: Day Shift | 2x12 Hr Shifts Weekly Schedule: PRN | No weekends Status: Non-Exempt

Role Overview

As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist II, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic testing and quality control procedures while maintaining accuracy and compliance with all policies and regulatory standards. You will support moderate- to high-complexity testing, prepare reagents, maintain laboratory systems and equipment, assist with training new personnel, and ensure high-quality results that support patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic testing and quality control procedures
• Prepare reagents and accurately report results per established policies
• Perform and oversee moderate- to high-complexity laboratory testing
• Maintain laboratory computer applications and documentation
• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and supplies
• Assist with training, orientation, and competency assessments of laboratory personnel
• Ensure adherence to regulatory, safety, and quality standards
• Support workflow, communication, and collaboration within the laboratory team
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education

• Required: Associate's degree in Medical Technology or a related scientific field
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a related field

Certification & Licensure – Required

• State of Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist License

Experience

• Clinical laboratory experience required
