Responsibilities

Lead an underwriting team that supports key agency partnerships and drives consistent, high-quality portfolio performance. In this role, you'll partner with leadership and distribution to drive growth, maintain key relationships, and ensure consistent underwriting execution and performance.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Build and maintain relationships with key Retail agency partners to support submission activity and improve business mix
• Support underwriting planning by working with leadership and communicating direction to the team
• Handle higher-level referrals from underwriting supervisors and assist with complex accounts
• Monitor submission and renewal volume, team productivity, and service level performance
• Review workflows and assess staffing needs, including coordinating training for new and existing team members
• Review quality control results to identify trends and areas for improvement
• Work with teams to ensure underwriting policies and procedures remain accurate and up to date
• Participate in agency meetings, internal meetings, and industry events as needed

Qualifications

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience required
• Professional insurance designations such as AU, API, CIC, or CPCU preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of underwriting experience
• Advanced knowledge of property and casualty underwriting practices, risk assessment, and coverage evaluation
• Familiarity with insurance policy language and forms
• Experience using data and performance metrics to inform underwriting decisions
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and projects
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Work across teams and maintain internal working relationships
• Demonstrated independent work, sound judgment, and attention to detail
• Experience reviewing or improving workflow processes

Salary $115,000 – 180,000 USD + bonus. In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws, this range represents a good‐faith estimate. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, credentials, geographic location, and other considerations permitted by law.
