Associate | Internal Communications Specialist

Buro Happold is looking for a dynamic and strategic Internal Communications Specialist to join our hybrid US Marketing team in either New York or Boston. This role will shape the voice of Buro Happold’s internal communications in the United States, partnering closely with senior stakeholders to develop and implement a thoughtful, creative, and effective internal communications strategy tailored to our US region. Responsibilities Collaborate with the US Regional Leadership Team and US Head of Marketing & Communications to craft and execute a regional internal communications strategy that aligns with our global vision and values. Work with our Global Head of Internal Communications and be part of a global internal communications community to ensure our regional messaging aligns and amplifies our global messaging strategy. Partner with HR, Operations, Finance and other departments to support change communications, employee engagement, and organizational updates. Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, drafting key messages, leadership updates, structuring team communications cadence as well as scripts for internal videos and presentations. Lead the redesign and content strategy for our SharePoint-based intranet, ensuring it is intuitive, engaging, and informative for all US employees. Create and manage a communications calendar to ensure timely, relevant, and consistent messaging across all internal channels. Monitor engagement and feedback to continuously improve communication effectiveness. Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in internal communications. Qualifications and Experience 7+ years of experience at a senior level in internal communications, preferably in a global organization. Bachelor's degree or postgraduate qualification in communications, marketing, or related field, desirable but not essential. Strategic thinker with a strong creative eye and exceptional writing skills, able to craft clear, concise, and compelling messages for diverse audiences. Confidence in working with senior leaders and translating their vision into impactful messaging. Experience managing or designing intranet platforms (SharePoint experience a must). Ability to write from a blank page, conduct interviews, and distill technical information into engaging content. Strong editorial skills with keen attention to detail, tone, and voice. Collaborative mindset and the ability to work across teams and time zones. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism. What We Offer Salary range of $102,000 – $115,000 (determined based on location, skills, education, and experience). Generous benefits package. Annual discretionary bonus.
