Server Assistant/Host - Town Company

Job Overview This position will work in two main functions for Town Company fluctuating between a server assistant and host. A restaurant server assistant is responsible for assisting the server with servicing food and beverage to the guest. This task is to be handled in a friendly, courteous, helpful, timely, and professional manner resulting in a very high level of guest satisfaction. A Host is responsible for welcoming and creating the first impression for guests. These individuals have the ability to influence the overall restaurant experience by their interactions that include providing table accommodations and offering menu recommendations. Hosts may be the final point of contact and have the ability to ensure guest satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Follow all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards. Ensure proper use, care, and maintenance of equipment; report repair needs promptly. Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of all work areas. Maintain full knowledge of: Table/seat numbers, room capacity, hours of operation, contact information, and restaurant setup. All spirits, beers, non-alcoholic beverages, glassware, and garnishes. Wine-by-the-glass program and characteristics of each selection. All menu items, preparation methods, ingredients, and quality standards. Local vendors and farmers. POS and reservation systems. Ensure assigned station is properly set and clean before, during, and after shifts. Confirm service ware condition and ensure items meet standards. Greet guests warmly, anticipate needs, and provide attentive, professional service. Stay knowledgeable about hotel services and local attractions to assist guests. Communicate specials and promotions clearly. Comply with all liquor laws and company alcohol service policies. Preset tables as needed. Deliver food orders (up to 50 lbs), verifying accuracy and presentation. Refill beverages, check guest satisfaction, clear courses, and remove soiled items promptly. Assist in resolving guest complaints by involving management appropriately. Market and serve desserts and specialty beverages. Clear and reset tables efficiently. Complete assigned side work and general cleaning tasks. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or GED equivalency required. Experience Availability congruent with Town Company hours required, Wednesday - Sunday 4pm - 12am. Prior experience in food and beverage or hospitality required; fine dining experience preferred. Strong knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette preferred. Strong organizational skills required. Skilled at problem solving with an ability to work professionally and respectfully. Interaction/Skill Set Ability to remember, recite, and promote the entire variety of exciting menu items. Ability to lift, pull and push up to 30lbs. Ability to transport large trays weighing up to 50lbs through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout the shift. Ability to operate beverage and toast equipment. Ability to stand, walk, and continuously perform essential functions for an extended period of time.
