Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Summary:

Responsibilities:

• 
  Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor vital signs regularly.
  
  
• 
  Administer medications, including IV drugs and Heparin drips, in accordance with protocols.
  
  
• 
  Document patient care accurately in Meditech and maintain compliance with hospital policies.
  
  
• 
  Manage post-op procedures such as chest tubes, drains, and wound care, including wound vacs.
  
  
• 
  Educate patients and families on treatments, safety checks, and discharge instructions.
  
  
• 
  Float over core staff while maintaining high standards of patient safety and communication.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Valid RN licensure with current BLS certification.
  
  
• 
  Minimum of 2 years experience in medical-surgical nursing.
  
  
• 
  Ability to perform basic assessments and care for patients with wounds, tracheostomies, ostomies, and drains.
  
  
• 
  Experience with patient populations requiring dialysis or PCA pumps, with specific knowledge of Heparin drips.
  
  
• 
  Strong skills in safety checks, documentation, and teamwork.
  
  
• 
  Flexibility to work 7:00 PM 7:00 AM shifts, including weekends on a 4-week rotation.
