We are seeking a dedicated Food Services Cook to join our Facilities Compliance Department. In this role, you won't just be cooking food—you will be preparing nutritious, family-style meals that directly support the health, well-being, and happiness of our residents and staff. What You Will Do (Essential Duties) Craft Quality Meals: Prepare and serve delicious morning, noon, and evening family-style meals according to pre-approved menus and recipes. Support Specialized Nutrition: Partner with our Food Staffing Coordinator, dietician, and care team to accommodate individuals with special dietary needs and ensure balanced daily nutrition. Perfect the Presentation: Ensure all meals are served on time, at the proper temperature, and presented in a way that appeals to both taste and eye. Maintain Top-Tier Safety: Follow strict food handling, storage, and preparation procedures to maintain compliance and food safety. Keep a Pristine Kitchen: Maintain cleanliness in all kitchen and dining areas by executing daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning routines. Manage Inventory: Keep records, track food accounts, and maintain a reliable inventory of food and supplies. Collaborate & Grow: Participate in regular organizational meetings, training sessions, and communicate open lines of feedback regarding the care of our residents. Position Requirements Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Experience: 2 years of experience working in food services or a related field is highly preferred. Licensing: Must possess and maintain a current Alabama Driver’s License. Screenings: Must successfully pass a criminal background check, clean drug screen, and TB screening. Paid Training: Must complete certification training in Infection Control, First Aid, CPR, CPI, and OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens within 90 days of hire (provided by Rainbow Omega). Physical Demands & Environment Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, reach, and handle kitchen tools. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds independently, and assist with transferring individuals as needed. Works in a vibrant, moderate-noise environment.
