Payroll Coordinator

The Payroll Coordinator supports the administration of payroll and related employee processes across multiple business units and geographic locations. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate payroll records, assisting with payroll processing and compliance, supporting employee benefit administration, and responding to payroll-related questions from employees and local management. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with confidential information and large volumes of data. This position requires strong follow-through, sound judgment, and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies while providing responsive service to employees and internal stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Payroll Administration Assist with the preparation and processing of payroll on a recurring basis for employees across multiple locations and entities. Support payroll activities for both non-union and union employee populations as assigned. Review payroll data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance prior to processing. Maintain employee payroll records within payroll and enterprise systems. Process employee status and compensation changes, including new hires, terminations, transfers, promotions, and pay adjustments. Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee and management inquiries. Payroll Compliance & Reporting Support federal, state, and local payroll tax reporting and compliance activities. Assist with the administration of wage garnishments, tax levies, unemployment claims, and other payroll-related requirements. Maintain organized and accurate payroll records in accordance with applicable laws and company policies. Prepare recurring payroll reports and assist with management reporting and payroll reconciliations. Help ensure payroll processes remain compliant with applicable regulatory requirements. Benefits & Retirement Administration Support employee enrollment and ongoing maintenance of retirement plan contributions and payroll deductions. Process changes to employee benefit and retirement elections within applicable payroll systems. Assist with administration of union-related benefits, vacation accruals, and other payroll-connected programs. Coordinate with internal teams and external providers to resolve benefit or payroll-related issues. Employee Support Serve as a resource for employees and local administrators regarding payroll, deductions, benefits, and related questions. Investigate employee inquiries and coordinate appropriate resolutions. Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and compensation information. Provide timely and professional communication to employees, managers, and internal business partners. HR & Administrative Support Assist with new-hire onboarding activities, including employment documentation and pre-employment screening coordination. Support job posting and applicant administration processes as needed. Assist with maintaining employee records and completing routine HR-related administrative tasks. Provide general administrative support to the HR and payroll functions, including purchasing and supply coordination. Process Improvement Identify opportunities to improve payroll workflows, documentation, and data accuracy. Assist with system updates, testing, and implementation of payroll-related enhancements. Help standardize payroll procedures across locations and business units. Participate in special projects and other payroll or human resources initiatives as assigned. #J-18808-Ljbffr
