Job Summary:
The Telemetry Medical Surgical Float registered nurse position is located in Waterloo, Iowa. • Required Qualifications: Active Iowa/IA license or compact/multistate license at time of submission; 24 months of current experience in Progressive Care, Stepdown, Med Surg, Tele, or Med/Tele; ACLS, BLS, and De-Escalation (SAMA, MAB, MOAB, CPI) certifications; proficiency with drips including heparin, insulin, lasix, amiodarone, diltizam, digoxin; comfort with reading EKG/ECG; Epic EMR experience; documentation of NIH Stroke Scale certification; ability to communicate proficiently and work cross-unit as needed.
• Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Level 1 experience; teaching hospital experience; experience with Epic, Cerner, Meditech, and PointClickCare EMR systems; proficiency with advanced medication administration.
• Float: Float rotation may be required across Med Surg, BH, ED, ICU, and post-procedural areas based on census and staffing needs.
• Additional Information: Knowledge of Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day holiday staffing required; first-time traveler accepted with at least 2 years of hospital/medical center experience; must be comfortable with telemetries, rhythm interpretation, and proficiency in specific drips.
