Global Trade Compliance Director
$100k - $250kQuince
Global Trade Compliance Director We’re looking for a Global Trade Compliance Director to serve as a senior individual contributor within Quince’s global Trade Compliance organization. In this role, you will own high‑impact execution across product classification, trade compliance data governance, internal audits, and compliance escalations—ensuring accuracy, consistency, and regulatory integrity across our global operations. Because Quince’s business model is unique, this position will be equally unique in its execution—combining deep regulatory expertise, strong analytical judgment, and hands‑on ownership across systems, data, and cross‑functional workflows spanning sourcing, merchandising, logistics, technology, and legal. Success in this position means ensuring the integrity of Quince’s trade compliance program at scale: maintaining accurate and audit‑ready compliance data, reducing regulatory risk, strengthening internal controls, and continuously improving systems and processes that support global growth. Responsibilities Own day‑to‑day execution of trade compliance data governance across Quince’s product catalog, including product classification and customs data across multiple countries. Manage classification workflows end‑to‑end, including intake, prioritization, review, issue resolution, and escalation handling. Review, validate, and maintain product classifications and compliance data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and audit readiness. Serve as the subject matter expert for complex classification determinations, including ambiguous or high‑risk scenarios. Ensure trade compliance data required for customs filings and regulatory declarations is accurately maintained in internal systems. Apply and refine classification standards, business rules, and escalation processes to support scalable compliance execution. Execute and strengthen internal controls across classification, customs valuation, and free trade agreement eligibility. Conduct internal audits of product classifications, broker filings, and compliance records to identify risks and improve control effectiveness. Partner with sourcing and merchandising teams on tariff engineering, FTA analysis, and upstream decisions impacting compliance outcomes. Collaborate cross‑functionally with operations, logistics, legal, and technology teams to resolve compliance issues and improve data quality. Translate complex regulatory requirements into clear operational workflows, guidance, and system requirements. Support the evolution of trade compliance systems, tooling, and data governance frameworks. Identify process gaps and recurring issues, recommending improvements to enhance scalability, consistency, and compliance integrity. Qualifications Required 12+ years of experience in trade compliance, customs compliance, or global import/export compliance. Strong experience supporting importer‑side compliance programs, either in‑house or through consulting/brokerage. Deep expertise in product classification across multiple product categories and jurisdictions. Strong knowledge of customs valuation principles and practical application in an importer environment. Experience analyzing Free Trade Agreement eligibility and applying origin rules in operational contexts. Strong understanding of U.S. importer obligations, including reasonable care, informed compliance, and audit readiness. Experience conducting internal audits, compliance reviews, or control testing related to trade compliance. Proven ability to independently manage complex, high‑judgment workstreams with minimal oversight. Strong analytical skills and ability to work through complex datasets and regulatory scenarios. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate regulatory requirements into operational guidance. Demonstrated ability to work cross‑functionally across sourcing, merchandising, operations, logistics, technology, and legal. Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment while balancing compliance rigor with business needs. Preferred U.S. Customs Broker License. Experience with duty drawback programs. Experience with partner government agency requirements and filings. Experience supporting global or multi‑country trade compliance programs. Experience with trade compliance systems, data governance tools, or workflow platforms. Experience with tariff engineering or product design decisions impacting duty optimization. Experience building or improving classification governance, audit workflows, or broker oversight processes. Pay Range: $100,000 - $250,000 USD All posted ranges are reflective of base salary and may vary depending upon experience level and location. Bonus and equity may also be provided for eligible roles.
