Pay Rate: $26 - $29.50 per hr DOE

Position Summary
The Accountant II is responsible for preparing and analyzing financial reports, maintaining accurate accounting records, and supporting the organization's financial operations. This role ensures compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), assists with month-end close activities, manages account reconciliations, and supports audits and tax reporting.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).

Experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience in general financial accounting and cost accounting.

Required Skills
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Experience with accounting software and financial systems.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss reports.
Maintain the general ledger and perform cost accounting activities.
Compile and analyze cost information and maintain expense-related databases.
Process and code invoices, establish new accounts, reconcile accounts, and complete month-end closing activities.
Reconcile bank accounts and investigate discrepancies.
Manage accounts receivable collections and support accounts payable by verifying invoices and ensuring accurate account coding.
Assist external auditors by gathering financial records and supporting annual audit activities.
Prepare and file required federal, state, and local tax forms.
Support the maintenance and functionality of accounting software systems by coordinating with software vendors as needed.
Perform additional accounting and finance duties as assigned.
