Facilities & Grounds Maintenance Lead

Own the care and reliability of our campground’s grounds, facilities, streets, equipment, and utility systems while leading a hands-on maintenance crew.

A day in the life

Morning kicks off with a walkthrough of priority sites across the campground—checking buildings, streets, utilities, and equipment. You map out the day’s workload, assign tasks, and verify yesterday’s work orders were closed out thoroughly. Midday, you’re reviewing timecards for accuracy, coaching a team member on safe equipment use, and touching base with the General Manager to confirm the emergency on-call rotation. By afternoon, you’re meeting an on-site contractor, updating maintenance logs in line with the Operations Manual, and double-checking that hazardous materials are stored correctly. Before you wrap, you log vehicle service updates, resolve any new service requests, and plan tomorrow’s inspections.

What you’ll be responsible for

• Providing end-to-end stewardship of grounds, facilities, streets, equipment, and utility systems across the campground.
• Supervising and developing the grounds maintenance team, from selection and onboarding to ongoing coaching and policy compliance.
• Coordinating team member selection and development while ensuring adherence to all applicable policies and procedures.
• Adhering to the Timekeeping Policy by reviewing, verifying, approving, and submitting direct reports’ recorded time.
• Partnering with Team Relations on counseling and recommending termination when appropriate.
• Conducting performance reviews and recommending compensation adjustments.
• Following up on work assignments to ensure efficient, thorough completion of work orders.
• Assisting with selecting contractual services as requested and monitoring on-site contractors.
• Completing regular inspections of sites throughout the campground.
• Establishing and prioritizing daily work for the maintenance team.
• Prioritizing and resolving grounds service requests and maintaining records of request types and frequency.
• Working alongside the team on property maintenance and repairs for grounds and facilities.
• Collaborating with the General Manager to establish the emergency maintenance on-call schedule.
• Performing duties safely by following all safety procedures and using appropriate safety equipment.
• Assisting with maintenance issues as directed.
• Maintaining vehicle and equipment maintenance logs and ensuring proper upkeep of campground vehicles.
• Coordinating and ensuring completion of routine maintenance and minor emergency repairs.
• Ensuring safe storage of hazardous chemicals and/or equipment.
• Preparing all maintenance-related logs in accordance with the Operations Manual.
