Job Description Associate Dean of Student Affairs Montgomery College, Maryland - Rockville Campus Help shape a student-centered campus where students feelsupported, connected, and empowered to succeed. Montgomery College is seeking an experienced and collaborativestudent affairs leader to serve as Associate Dean of StudentAffairs on our Rockville Campus. Reporting to the Dean of Student Affairs, the Associate Dean is akey member of the campus Student Affairs leadership team andprovides leadership and operational oversight for a broad portfolioof student support functions. The Associate Dean will help shapeand coordinate responses to complex student needs, includingbehavioral intervention, crisis response, student conduct, TitleIX-related matters, and support for veteran and military-connected students. The Associate Dean also serves as a trusted campus leader, actingon behalf of the Dean in the Dean's absence, supervising assignedstaff, managing designated resources and budgets, and representingStudent Affairs on collegewide initiatives. Contribute to collegewide initiatives involving studentuccess, equity, safety, compliance, and the studentexperience. Essential Functions Provides leadership and operational oversight for assignedStudent Affairs programs, services, and campus-based studentsupport initiatives, ensuring alignment with institutional andStudent Affairs priorities and student success goals. Serves as a Student Affairs administrator and acts on behalf ofthe Dean of Student Affairs in the Dean's absence, providingleadership, decision-making, and continuity of operations. Leads the campus Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) andcoordinates assessment, intervention, documentation, casemanagement, and follow-up for students of concern, includingstudents experiencing behavioral, academic, personal, orcrisis-related challenges. Supports the administration and continuous improvement of the Student Conduct Program , including conduct operations,student development and educational initiatives, prevention andoutreach, assessment, compliance-related practices, andcollaboration with BIT and Title IX processes. Serves as a Deputy Title IX Coordinator and campus-basedresource for Title IX-related education, prevention, awareness, andreferrals. Collaborates with the Office of Compliance, Risk, andEthics and campus partners to promote compliance and connectstudents, faculty, and staff with appropriate resources andreporting options. Provides leadership and coordination for veteran andmilitary-connected student support services , promoting studentsuccess through collaboration, advocacy, resource development, andservice enhancement. Supervises assigned staff and manages operational resources,including personnel, budgets, technology systems, assessmentactivities, and administrative processes. Collaborates with faculty, staff, administrators, and externalpartners to address complex student concerns and developcoordinated support strategies that promote a safe, inclusive, andsupportive campus environment. Supports the development, implementation, assessment, andcontinuous improvement of Student Affairs policies, procedures,training programs, operational protocols, and compliance-relatedpractices. Represents campus Student Affairs on collegewide committees,workgroups, and special initiatives and collaborates with internaland external partners on student-centered programs andprojects. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Master's degree in higher education, student affairs,counseling, social work, education, public administration, legalstudies, or a closely related field. Progressively responsible experience in student affairs, highereducation administration, or related student-facing functions suchas student conduct, behavioral intervention, crisis response,counseling and advising, compliance, student life, or other studentsupport services. Experience supervising staff and leading or coordinatingoperational functions, including project management,cross-functional collaboration, and support for budgeting orresource allocation. Experience working within or alongside integrated studentsupport systems, including behavioral intervention, student conductprocesses, and campus-based care and intervention models. Experience working in environments involving application ofinstitutional policies and procedures and student supportframeworks, including familiarity with student developmentprinciples and regulatory requirements such as FERPA, Title IX,VAWA, and ADA/Section 504. Experience engaging with diverse stakeholders in a highereducation setting, including students, faculty, staff,administrators, families, and external partners, in support ofstudent success and institutional operations. Knowledge of the community college mission, including access,equity, student success, retention, and support for diverse studentpopulations. Knowledge of student development theory and integrated studentsupport systems, including behavioral intervention, studentconduct, Title IX/VAWA frameworks, crisis response, andprevention-based student affairs models. Knowledge of the value of data-informed decision making. An equivalent combination of education, training,certification, and/or experience that provides the requiredknowledge and expertise to perform the essential functions of theposition may be considered. Eligible applicants must currently be authorized to work in theUnited States and not require employer visa sponsorship. Hiring Range Hiring Range: $102,113 - $140,406 annually. Initial salaryplacement for new hires falls between the minimum and midpoint ofthe range and is based on relevant candidate experience andinternal equity. The maximum salary for this position is $178,698 annually.
