We're passionate about innovation in manufacturing and distribution, leading the way in the industrial baking industry, while creating opportunities for our people to grow and succeed.Our Core Beliefs:Be Well, Work Well | Create an Experience | Life-long Learning | Do the Right ThingThe Shipping Supervisor is responsible for supervising the shipment of products from production and sister bakeries to the sale routes and filling in for the Shipping Manager when needed.In this role, you will:Follow all assigned duties and those in which you were trained. Supervise, train, and direct shipping personnel.Ensure all products are delivered according to order, time schedule, and free from damage or contamination.Schedule all distribution personnel (and transport runs where applicable) to provide for the most efficient use of the workforce and related equipment, meeting established standards.Ensure production orders are filled correctly and the product is shipped according to schedule.Effectively run the assigned shift, addressing, and correcting any issues as they arise to assure the proper outcome using good reasoning skills.Always maintain FIFO.Maintain cleanliness of work area.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in material handling, warehouse, shipping, packaging, etc.Industry-specific knowledge, skills & abilities needed.Experience in the food environment desired, particularly in the bakery industry.General Business knowledge. Specialty/Job-Related knowledge, skills & abilities needed.Knowledge of material handling, warehouse, shipping, packaging.Leadership experience needed.Ability to empower, collaborate, motivate, and enthuse team members.Human Performance Management skills - monitor performance of direct reports and provide feedback to improve performance.Interpersonal knowledge, skills & abilities needed.Strong oral communication skills.Ability to build and maintain partnering relationships with other departments and key managers.Essential Physical Requirements:Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and push and pull heavy wheeled equipment or carts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with or without reasonable accommodation.Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time during a shift, maintaining a normal range of motion in all extremities.Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and crouch to access equipment, tools, or materials.Ability to use arms, hands and fingers to handle or operate machinery, tools or controls.Ability to perceive and respond immediately to visual and audible safety alerts and warnings to ensure the safety of self and others in a fast-paced, hazard-sensitive environment with or without reasonable accommodation.Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and airborne particles, odors and fumes.Ability to climb stairs, ladders, or work platforms as required by the position.Ability to sit for prolonged periods using office equipment and computer systems.Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and protective clothing for extended periods of time, with or without reasonable accommodation.What's in it for you?At H&S Family of Bakeries, we value our team members and work hard to create a workplace where people can grow and thrive.
