Store Team Leader

Position: Store Team Leader – Full‑time, Hourly Rate: $15 Location: 543 Mansfield Dr., Scottsburg, IN 47170 Position Summary The Store Team Leader assists the Store Leader, Assistant Store Leader, management team, and staff to execute store operational goals of the annual operating plan. The Team Leader makes judgments involving customers, team members, operational issues, business planning, priority setting, compliance with company policies, and all areas of the business. Responsibilities Staff Management and Development (30%) – Provides coaching and training to hourly employees on daily tasks, participates in the hourly associate recruitment process (pre‑screening and interviewing), and seeks opportunities for professional development for both self and other team members. Operations (60%) – Completes day‑to‑day tasks and suggests efficiency improvements; integrates, represents, and communicates Goodwill’s Mission, Vision, and Values to internal and external customers at all times. Financial Management & Reporting (10%) – Acts as a steward of resources; tracks and measures day‑to‑day sales, production goals, and donations. Required Competencies and Qualifications Degree and Credential Requirements: None; candidates must demonstrate capability and articulate how prior experience will contribute. Supervisory Expertise: Oversees the work of others, directly or indirectly, in a service‑related industry. Coaching: Provides timely guidance and effective feedback to strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas. Communication Skills: Articulates thoughts and ideas effectively using oral, written, visual, and non‑verbal communication, and listens to comprehend customers’ needs. Customer Focus: Builds and maintains customer satisfaction with impartial, unbiased service to internal and external customers. Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with computers and relevant software including basic internet navigation skills. Results‑Oriented: Recognizes important results and takes necessary steps to achieve set goals or targets. Critical Thinking: Uses judgment to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions. Ethical: Adheres to procedures, protocol, and Goodwill’s values, maintaining confidentiality of passwords and other sensitive information. Industry Expertise (Preferred) – Experience in a warehouse environment and knowledge of planning, time management, inventory control, equipment maintenance, teamwork, documentation, and data entry. Physical Requirements Hard to Very Hard Physical Work: Ability to spend more than 8 hours sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and crouching; use hands to grasp, carry, feel, or touch products and machinery; lift 10–50 pounds; manage exposure to moderate noise and temperature variations.
