Medical Director, Laboratory, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital-Somerset Contact a Physician Recruiter Job ID: 1142712 Specialty: Pathology Profession: Physician (MD, DO, Resident) The Barnabas Health Medical Group, in collaboration with the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, invites applications for a Medical Director in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital-Somerset. The Department is responsible for all anatomic and clinical laboratory services at the 339‑bed regional medical center in Somerville, NJ. The successful candidate will lead the pathology laboratory, overseeing all aspects of laboratory operation, providing leadership for staff, planning, organizing, and directing laboratory activities with managers, supervisors, and senior technologists, and serving as a subject‑matter expert and consultant. The Director will provide clinical direction, including laboratory oversight, test validation, and maintenance of College of American Pathologists accreditation; experience in a CAP‑accredited laboratory is desirable. As a member of the Anatomic and Clinical Pathology team, the Director will consult with clinical staff and participate in tumor boards. This is a general pathology service within a community hospital; subspecialty expertise in cytopathology or hematopathology is desirable. Qualifications: minimum of five (5) years experience, MD, DO, or MBBS, board certification in AP/CP, New Jersey Medical License, and eligibility for a New Jersey Bioanalytical Laboratory Director License required.
