Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse – Western North Carolina

Start Date: August 10, 2026

Location: Asheville, North Carolina

Schedule: Every other weekend, 12-hour shifts with 4:1 patient ratio (5:1 stretched)

Highlights:

• 44-bed Progressive Care Unit specializing in neuro and trauma patient populations
• Typical patient ratio of 4:1 with comprehensive clinical support staff including CNCs, CNAs, and unit coordinators
• Advanced clinical environment utilizing Cerner EMR, IV pumps, chest tubes, PCA pumps, patient lifts, and specialized neuro/trauma equipment
• Perform neuro and spinal assessments, C-collar placement, TLSO braces, chest tube management, and blood transfusions
• Collaborate within a 95-member nursing team dedicated to high-acuity progressive care
• Opportunity to float to stepdown and medical-surgical units for professional development

Requirements:

• Current North Carolina RN license or compact state license with NC endorsement
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification – required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification – required
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification – required
• Neuro and trauma care experience – required
• Scrub color: Navy blue
