About the Position

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse – North Carolina**Start Date:** August 10, 2026**Location:** Asheville, North Carolina**Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants**Schedule:** 12-hour shifts, every other weekend, holiday rotation, no call required Highlights: - 40-bed Clinical Decision/Direct Admit Unit focused on ED decompression and enhanced patient throughput- Patient ratios of 1:5 for step-down/combined patients, 1:6 for med-surg- Work with diverse patient diagnoses in a fast-paced, quick-turnover environment- Cerner EMR system and Baxter IV pumps- Minimal bedside procedures due to unit focus on admission processing and acute care initiation- Float opportunities to CMU Telemetry Unit and ED Transport roles available- Extension opportunities common – many travel nurses request to stay for multiple assignments Requirements: - Active RN license- Minimum 2 years recent Med-Surg, Telemetry (remote), and Step-Down/PCU experience preferred- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required- Additional certifications preferred but not required- Positive attitude with strong teamwork focus- Willingness to float to other units within skill set- Charge Nurse experience or willingness to consider appreciated Why It's a Great Opportunity: This specialized unit offers RNs the chance to make an immediate impact on patient flow and experience by focusing on efficient admissions and care initiation rather than overflow holding.
