About the Position

# Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse – North Carolina**Start Date:** August 10, 2026 **Location:** Western North Carolina **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** Every other weekend required; holiday rotation; no call required**Highlights:** - 40-bed Clinical Decision/Direct Admit Unit focused on ED decompression and enhanced throughput with fast-paced, quick-turnover environment- Patient ratios of 1:5 (Step-Down/combined assignments) or 1:6 (Med-Surg); goal of free charge nurse with 1-2 CNAs based on volume- Wide variety of diagnoses requiring well-rounded clinical background; minimal bedside procedures due to unit environment- Cerner EMR system with Baxter IV pumps; remote telemetry monitoring- Floating to other units within skill set as needed; additional opportunities in CMU Telemetry Unit and ED Transport roles- Most travel nurses request extensions with several staff members remaining for multiple years**Requirements:** - Current North Carolina RN license or compact state license- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required- Minimum 2 years recent experience in Med-Surg, Telemetry (remote), and Step-Down (PCU) level care preferred- Charge Nurse experience or willingness to serve in charge capacity appreciated- Positive attitude with strong focus on teamwork**Why It's a Great Opportunity:** This specialized unit prioritizes patient safety and exceptional care delivery through efficient ED decompression and admission processes.
