RN - CVICU

CICU/CVICU Registered Nurse

This is a 13-week contract position.

Rotating day and night shifts: 3x12 hours (07:30 - 19:30 / 19:00 - 07:00), every other weekend, and holidays as scheduled.

We are seeking a dedicated CICU/CVICU Registered Nurse with a strong background in cardiovascular critical care. The RN will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to adults and geriatric patients experiencing severe cardiac conditions. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work cohesively with a multidisciplinary team and possess exceptional critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and provide direct care to critically ill patients in the CVICU.
• Administer medications and treatments as per protocols.
• Perform bedside procedures such as central line and A-line insertions.
• Utilize advanced cardiac monitoring and support devices (e.g., Impella, IABP).
• Participate in rapid response and code situations.
• Document patient care activities accurately in the electronic medical record (Epic).

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a CVICU or CICU setting.
• Active RN Maryland state license or Compact License.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS; CCRN certification is preferred.
• Proven experience managing patients with a range of cardiac conditions.
• Ability to float to lower acuity units as needed.
