Pediatric Gastroenterologist

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Florida invites applications for a full-time faculty position in the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled clinician in general gastroenterology, with experience or interest in motility/neurogastroenterology or advanced therapeutic procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive care to pediatric patients with a wide range of gastrointestinal, liver, and nutritional disorders.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teamsincluding dietitians, psychologists, and other specialiststo support holistic patient care.
• Participate in teaching activities, including the education and supervision of medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Engage in clinical or translational research in pediatric gastroenterology, with opportunities for both collaboration and independent projects.
• Contribute to divisional and departmental service activities.

Qualifications:

• MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree.
• Board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Gastroenterology.
• Demonstrated expertise or interest in pharmacological management, motility/neurogastroenterology, or advanced therapeutic procedures.
• Strong clinical, teaching, and research skills.

UF Health Shands Children's Hospital represents the only quaternary-care academic pediatric center in North Florida. The children's hospital has 208 beds, including fully-equipped pediatric and neonatal intensive care units. UF Health Shands Children's Hospital is part of the Children's Miracle Network's alliance of premier hospitals for children.

The Department of Pediatrics is committed to fostering innovation and advancing discovery in the biomedical and psychosocial aspects of child health and human development, educating and training pediatric scientists, and directly translating basic scientific discoveries into new patient-oriented therapies. In the most recent fiscal year, the department was home to over $30.5M in sponsored research. UF Health faculty work in multidisciplinary teams with researchers in the five other Health Science Center colleges, as well as those from across the University. The focus of team efforts is often grown out of the Centers and Institutes, including the Evelyn F. and William L. McKnight Brain Institute, the UF Genetics Institute, the Powell Gene Therapy Center, and the UF Health Cancer Center.
